I’ve known for a long time that “red cheeks” is one of the signs of teething, but I learned something new tonight. Nicholas has one very hot cheek and the other one is cold – we’ve never noticed this before. I jumped online and found this article about Homeopathy in Children, which commented that this is “typical”.
I wonder if this means that one of those pearly whites is really close to breaking through? He’s been showing signs for the last 3 months – drooling, fussing, red cheeks – but maybe this is the real thing?
What did you notice in your child when their teeth came in?
Update: this post gets more hits than any other post! To make sure you’re getting the information you’re looking for, see Our Green Baby for information on a product we’ve used to help Nicholas with the pain of teething. Oh, and no teeth yet (he’s 8 months now).

Hi…I know this is an old post but my 6 month old daughter just had the same thing tonight where only her one cheek was red and hot! Did you son’s tooth break through shortly after you noticed this?
Thanks.
