Wiped. Exhausted. Knackered. Discombobulated. (sp?) Weary.
He had me believing that he was a great sleeper, going 6 – 8 hours each night for a number of weeks, and then suddenly he’s awake every 1.5 – 2 hrs! He’s not necessarily hungry, because he doesn’t always need a boob to get him back to sleep. It could be teething … he’s been battling with those pearly whites for the last couple of weeks. Oh, the drool – who knew someone so small could produce so much goop?!?
We were recommended to try Hyland’s Teething Tablets as a homeopathic remedy. I couldn’t find any at 2 drugstores, so we’re trying Camilia instead. They both use Belladonna and Chamomilla as the main ingredients, so I’m sure they both work.
We gave him some Infant Tylenol today, while we were in line waiting to see Santa for the first time. He stopped munching on his hand and crying, but he had a pretty grumpy face when he finally met jolly old Saint Nick. And we had decided to pay the (gasp!) $16 for the photos … that’ll learn us!
Or will it? How much of what we do for/with our kids is out of guilt or embarassment? Buying toys to keep kids from screaming in the toy store. Buying ice cream to keep them from screaming at the park. Buying the Santa photos to keep the elves from kicking us in the knees. Well, they probably wouldn’t have done that, but they might have wanted to … and the dirty looks would have been just as bad.
After taking the Tylenol, he pretty much passed out for the entire afternoon. Hope that’s just because he was so tired from barely sleeping last night and not a side effect of the medication. Anyways, here’s the one photo I took today – I’m curious to see if the one we paid for is any better (we’ll pick it up on Monday).
