Wikipedia has this to say: The word is borrowed from Latin “lunaticus”, which gains its stem from “luna” for moon, which denotes the traditional link made in folklore between madness and the phases of the moon.
I may not be a lunatic, but I’m definitely mad and clearly under the spell of the moon. This is the second night in a row that I’ve been awake to see 5 am. Ugh! This is what I deal with in the week leading up to the full moon. It’s not quite this bad every month – it’s usually just one night when I’m up until 2 or 3 am.
At least I’m starting to feel slightly tired. Thank goodness my bags are packed, because I’m not going to be very useful when I wake up in a couple of hours to go to the airport. Sure hope Patrick is sleeping well so he can get us fed and out the door in time for our flight.
By the way, the moon will be full on March 3rd.
