We spent the weekend in Kelowna, one of my favourite times of year because the weather is beautiful and there’s lots of delicious food! We managed to have BOTH a ham dinner and a turkey dinner, on two different nights. Bonus! And when people started to feel guilty about having all this great food and Nicholas not being able to participate, we were able to tell them what he was eating … organic grain-fed chicken breast poached in garlic and white wine and yams with cinnamon and lemon juice. Gotta tell ya – it was some tasty! His bowl was short a few bites, thanx to a nibbling mummy.
So, the boy’s list of foods, so far, include: broccoli, avocado, sweet potato, yams, chicken, carrot, cereals (rice, barley, and oat), banana, mango, and apple. Yes, it’s not a very long list, but we’ve been introducing the food every 5-7 days to allow time for allergies to show up (if they exist). In the next few weeks, we’d like to introduce egg yolks (the whites aren’t recommended until baby is over a year old), peas, corn, and even cheese.
