Here are a couple of big milestones – back to back. Yesterday, we noticed Nicholas taking a couple of steps while standing at the coffee table. It’s called furniture surfing. Today he showed me that he’s learning super quickly – he took about 6 steps while we were hanging out with the group.
The kids decided the social room was getting a bit boring, so they all escaped (with Nicholas leading the way) to the hallway. As we, the mums, were sitting there chatting and watching the kids play, Nicholas suddenly decided that he liked the toy up on the next level and promptly climbed the two stairs to get there. Just like that. He’s never even seen stairs and he climbed them without hesitation. Pretty impressive, our little guy!
The last few days have been great in the sleeping department. He’s getting about 7 to 8 hours straight at night, going down between 9 and 10 (with a few exceptions) , waking by midnight for a quick slurp (unless Patrick can get to him quickly enough to settle him back to sleep) and out again until 7 or 8am. His daytime naps have been averaging 75 minutes (twice a day), but yesterday he had a 2.5 hour nap in the morning and missed the afternoon nap (no surprise). Today, he had a 2 hour morning nap and an hour in the afternoon. There’s my 3 hours of work for the day! Yippee!
