If you can’t have fortune … fame will do. Nicholas and I were on Breakfast Television this morning, participating in a demonstration of Salsa Babies for Runners & Booties Fitness. What fun! We had to be there by 8:30, which wasn’t easy, but we managed. They hadn’t told the makeup person how many mums were coming, so there wasn’t time for me to get “done”, but it really didn’t matter – we were only on the air for 5 minutes. We strapped on the kids and danced away under the lights while Tasha interviewed Lara. I had to laugh when they were chatting about how mums can easily do this class while wearing their 10 lb baby. 10 lbs! Nicholas was 10 lbs for only 1 day, about 2 weeks after he was born! We taped the show, but it’s going to take me some time to get it converted to an .mpeg file and uploaded. Perhaps this weekend. I bumped into someone I haven’t seen for a few years. Having a baby has brought many people back into my life, including someone I haven’t seen in almost 20 years. Small world, eh?!
In the afternoon, Nicholas went to Petra for a few hours and then Danika came over, so I took the kids outside to get some fresh air. It was too hot to walk, so we just sat on the grass and played with some other kids from the complex. After Danika went home, Nicholas and I took a nap and then had dinner. He should have been almost ready for bed at this point, but I think the nap refreshed him, so we played and played … and it’s now 11:35pm and he’s not asleep yet! Patrick has just taken him for a walk, hoping that will knock him out. Fingers crossed, because tomorrow is going to be another early morning.
I’m hoping that we’ll pick up his toddler bed tomorrow – it’s a great deal that I found on craigslist … a little blue sports car that will hold his crib mattress. He won’t use it for another 6 or 7 months, probably, but I didn’t want to miss the deal.
