Tonight we started our first class of “Boogie Babies”. The description had me hooked as soon as I saw it: For ages newborn to 18 months. Join Arlene as she introduces you and your baby to the wonderful world of music and movement. Arlene, a skilled and experienced infant music educator will help your baby explore and develop visual, tactile, and auditory perception, fine and gross motor skills, music beat, relaxation, sign and verbal language. These elements will be explored through group and creative dance, object and instrument play, and exploration, rocking, massage, dance, songs and quiet time. Parent participation is required.
Patrick was off today, so we were both able to go and it was so much fun! Nicholas was one of the older kids in the class (of 10) and certainly one of the most active. He kept walking up to other people and throwing the ball at them or taking their shakers – he’s a sociable boy, that one! Arlene’s style is very free-flowing, so she was great about it. And we bumped into a few people we haven’t seen in a while, including Daniel (what beautiful curls he has now).
Nicholas stole the show a couple of times because he’s a little slow with the clapping thing – he’ll watch everyone else do it first and then he’ll do it (when it’s quiet) and throw his hands up to cheer, too!
