Another great purchase from craigslist! For $30, we picked up 3 new toys … a ball pit (blow-up train with about 150 balls), slide/climbing apparatus, and a picnic table. They were a bit dirty, so Patrick spent some time scrubbing the ball pit this morning. When Nicholas saw it, his face lit right up! He immediately clambered into it, swished the balls around, and promptly started to toss them out. What fun! I can’t wait to clean the slide and see what he thinks of that! Now we just need some more room to put all these big toys!
Two days ago, he started saying something that might possibly be his next new word … “mano” (Spanish: hand). He walks around saying, “mano, mano, mano”, but when I show him my hand and say the word, he doesn’t seem to have connected them together, so I’m not sure if he just likes the sound or if he understands what it means.
He has understood “goal”, though. One of his favourite games is to throw his arms into the air and have us copy him. Recently we started saying “goal” when he does it and today we thought we heard him say “goal”. Those moments happen so quickly and unexpectedly that you’re not sure if you really heard it or if you just imagined it. The fact that we went to a WHL game last night might have helped.
