The grades are posted … I passed my Finance course … and managed to squeak out a C+ to boot! Yay me! I had a really tough time with this course because it was really intensive … on top of minding Nicholas and working part-time and trying (mostly failing) at being a homemaker. Thank goodness for the ladies I met in the mall the other day. They reassured me that the one thing they would change if they could go back 40 years would be to spend more time with their children and less time cleaning the house!
The fact that I left 30% of my final exam completely blank (chose to study the wrong stuff, obviously) left me quite concerned that I might not manage that C+. The other courses I’ve taken so far (note: all pre-baby) were much better – “A”s and “A-“s, but a C+ is what I hoped for this time around. If I do choose to continue through into the CGA program, they require a minimum C+ in each of the transferable courses, so I can breath a sigh of relief, knowing that the time I put into the course wasn’t wasted. For the record, Finance was interesting, but not my cup of tea – too many variables with every scenario!
Mum arrived yesterday for a 2-week visit over Christmas and is already teaching Nicholas some new words. When she tells the story of the 3 Little Pigs, he says “knock knock” when the Big Bad Wolf arrives at the pig’s door. Very cute! He had a miserable sleep with us last night. I’m not sure if it was because of all the bodies shifting in the bed, or the cold that has been ever-present for weeks now and became much worse overnight. I guess we’ll see how tonight goes and hope for the best. I need a good sleep tonight to fend off this sore throat! 6 days to Christmas – yay!
